My theme was love. I wanted to highlight the use and meaning behind the vest in my performances. In my first performance I used two trees to show two unconnected beings, with the vests being a bond through a community. My second performance was using the vest to create a heart. The heart obviously signifies love, but the vest show a group of people with similar views coming together. My overall theme was to show the bond between the vest and the love it signifies.

Alfred System Personal Research

Over the past couple days I’ve been exploring the rules of Alfred University. College is seen as a lot of people’s first taste of freedom. You become responsible for yourself and feel like an adult. As time has passed I don’t feel this anymore, It’s more of a big kid summer camp. With different signs everywhere telling you what you can’t do, what you can eat and where you can go. Though I do feel more free then from home these rules make me more curious to challenge these rules. Maybe that’s exactly what the school wants, to create young innovative people who aren’t afraid to challenge the norm.

Alfred Group Map

The past few days in foundations I was apart of the creation of a map of Alfred University. Students created different landmarks using different mediums to express themselves. Me an my partner used an old box for a close by building, some walls and to create a miniature parking lot. We later as a class had to fill in the blank spots. Me and a few students where tracing our body’s and and drawing other crazy lines to fill in space. Even though it looks scattered and crazy it was also a beautiful way to see the school from the other students perspective.
